KNOXVILLE, TN (July 18, 2021) – The KCS Security Division will host a recruitment fair on Thursday, July 22, from 2-6 p.m. at the Sarah Simpson Professional Development and Technology Center, 801 Tipton Avenue.

Potential candidates will be interviewed onsight, so come prepared with a resume, credentials, and dressed appropriately. Selected recruits will attend a fall training academy. More information is available on the Division’s website, and an application is available at knoxschools.org/ssoapplication.

Superintendent Bob Thomas recently appointed Jason Periard as the new KCS Chief of Security effective August 1, 2021, to replace Gus Paidousis who retires on July 31, 2021.

Periard’s credentials are impressive. He is currently vice president of the Community Security Initiative at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, which represents the security of over 500 institutions, including over 100 schools. He served 21-years in the United  States Marine Corp in numerous security and law enforcement leadership positions throughout the world. This includes working as a special agent for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and as an investigations officer for the USMC Criminal Investigation Division.
