The League of Women Voters of Tennessee and other sponsors are hosting a redistricting hearing on Monday, Sept. 27, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. CDT.
Nashville, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2021) — Tennessee’s upcoming redistricting decisions are important to your community. These maps will determine the new political boundaries for the Congressional, Tennessee Senate, and Tennessee House districts.
A healthy democracy is built on fair representation for all communities in the state. We believe that the people who live in a community know it best and understand when unified representation will serve their community of interest the best way possible.
In that vein, The sponsors for this session include the Tennessee Conference of the NAACP, CivicTN, Central Labor Council of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators.
Learn and provide input
This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the specific approach in Tennessee as well as an opportunity to provide input. We welcome brief, informal statements from individuals and groups that can be shared with the Tennessee House Select Committee on Redistricting that is responsible for drafting statewide maps.
