Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a very young woman, by the standards of today, who pulled off a remarkable feat by unseating a veteran Congress member in her New York district. Like many young people, she seems full of herself and makes statements that many — myself included — see as way too expansive. However, she’ll get over that if she survives the vicious infighting of politics. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the outrage and consternation from those who call themselves conservatives and believe answers are only found in the past.
If her influence is to be judged strictly by the attacks on her, enemies have already made her much more powerful than she would have ever been without the help of old white guys of my age. So keep it up old guys; she’s still young and you are all getting older. I don’t know how her political career will turn out, but AOC (few people her age are known by their initials) is intelligent, charismatic and attractive. Keep putting her name in the national headlines every day because it can only help her.
